Are you ready to shape and carve out the mould for the role of Finance Director (FD)? We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual for our client who will lead finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely end-to-end financial processes. Your expertise will drive both statutory and management reporting, maximising the company's resources and providing a clear understanding of underlying performance.
The organisation has gone through an exciting buy and build story with the support of their PE firm and have more M&A activity on the horizon for the right Finance Director to get involved in.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be hands-on initially, diving into the foundations of the existing finance function. Your goal will be to transform it into a world-leading, high-performing function by revamping systems, processes, and cultivating a talented team. You will need to be process-driven, logical, and possess exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of personalities and stakeholders across this business.
As the Finance Director, you will be the natural successor to the CFO within a time horizon of 2 years, highlighting the tremendous growth potential of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate, timely end-to-end financial and management reporting - both internal and external.
- Ensuring accurate, timely end-to-end statutory reporting, audit, and statutory compliance.
- Maintaining smooth operational performance of finance operations, eliminating any surprises.
- Overseeing the Group's control framework, including accounting policies and basis for judgmental estimates.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities.
- Providing strong and clear leadership, mentoring the finance team.
- Improving processes and implementing automation

Essential Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of senior finance experience.
- Strong technical accounting foundation and knowledge of financial management systems.
- Excellent business planning and financial modelling skills.
- Advanced Excel user.
- Familiarity with Navision/AX/Business Central and Jet reports/reporting tools.
- Highly analytical, with experience in implementing and modifying financial disciplines, processes, and KPIs.
- Experience leading and running an audit process.
- Rigorous approach to cash management and working capital optimisation.
- Strong commercial and business awareness.
