Candidates with exit and transaction experience will likely have an edge, particularly if ACA or equiv, qualified. Candidates MUST have construction (property, infrastructure, engineering etc) experience, in particular, financial contracts experience ranging from week long projects up to a year. You will be working alongside a highly qualified CFO who is eager to share his expertise and is planning to retire post exit, leaving opportunity to progress. The company is set to exit in the next 12-18months so need someone dedicated, driven and well-practiced within the construction, and ideally PE space. 

    You will be responsible for a team of 10 whilst diversifying and professionalising the finance function to further acquisitions and aid in a smooth and successful exit. Whilst liaising with stakeholders and investors, you will also be reporting directly into the CFO. Additionally, candidates will be tasked with galvanising improvements of financial systems, processes, and controls.

    Requirements:

    • Candidates who are ACA, or ACCA if ample private equity and exit experience is provided.

    As the Head of Tax, you will be responsible for overseeing group compliance, governance, planning, and the newly implemented transfer pricing regime. This is a newly created role resulting from a recent restructure, and you will work alongside a dedicated US tax specialist as well as a finance team.

    The Role:

    It's a newly created step-up role that will lead and coordinate the group's tax compliance, governance, and planning activities, as well as provide support in areas that have material tax implications such as M&A, transfer pricing, intra-group trading and funding.

    • Lead the ongoing development of the group tax function and ensuring robust tax systems and controls
    • Maintain and enhance procedures and controls
    • Responsibility for direct tax compliance obligations
    • Identification and management of tax automation initiatives
    • Assess, document, and manage uncertain tax positions and related tax risks
    • Advise on the tax implications of potential acquisitions, disposals, expansion, and similar projects
    • Proactively monitor and interpret the impact of UK and international tax developments of relevance to the UK operations
    • Design and lead the implementation of functional, transactional, or legal entity restructuring
    • Participate in/lead cross-specialty projects (Tax/Legal/Regulatory)
    • Manage transfer pricing and DPT as it relates to UK operations
    • Manage the ongoing development of tax policy including ESG related tax policy

    The Requirements:

    • Strong background in tax, either from industry or straight from practice
    • Experience working with international groups of companies
