    Finatal is working with a very sought-after private equity investor looking for an enthusiastic individual to join as a Chief of Staff/Project Manager.
    This is an incredible and unique opportunity to join an exciting firm in the private equity space.

    The ideal candidate will have had valuable experience in managing projects with stakeholders across private markets and keen to translate this to a commercial environment.

    The role

    The Role:

    With a mix of investing, project management and operations, responsibilities include:

    • Drive project critical to the investment group’s senior leadership; prioritize long-term projects and take a lead as project manager on several of these projects (e.g. fund-level OKRs & strategic planning)
    • Manage special projects and one-off analysis, such as GP waterfall models or firm-wide return analysis
    • Initiate research that supports the partner’s broad investment theses across investment groups, and take action on recommendations
    • Help build out the operational back bone of the investment group, with in-depth studying of the best managers in the market, and how we can replicate/improve their approach to HR, IT, Data, AI and reporting
    • Support with strategic planning and execution of fundraising initiatives
    • Fill in the gaps across strategy, deal review, diligence, reporting, portfolio management across the investment groups when senior leadership’s bandwidth is stretched
    • Drive strategy planning around fund level usage of data and AI in collaboration with our dedicated team
       

     

    The requirements

    Requirements:

    • 3-7 years’ experience coming from a combination of management consulting, investment banking, and/or asset management industry
       
    • Highly energy and pace - you excel in a fast-paced environment with significant ambiguity

    Finatal are retained by a scaling, highly acquisitive and private equity backed professional services business which has revenues exceeding c.£250m +. The business is international and has several product offerings. Following a majority buyout from a mid-market private equity fund, the business now requires a Group Financial Controller (newly created). The successful candidate will be hands-on in contributing to change and scalability in partnership with the Director of Finance who has strong credentials across a breadth of sectors, and private equity transactions.

    The successful hire will have a strong background as a Group Controller and particularly adept on technical accounting. They will lead on the implementation of processes, controls and systems and critically assess and critique the function to contribute to the ambition of a ‘best-in-class’ environment. The successful candidate will establish a strong reporting structure, and lead on establishing consolidated group accounts, as well as the post deal integration of acquisitions.

    Applicants must have held a technical role (Group Financial Controller / Director of / or equivalent) and ambitious to establish a controls environment in a business which moves at pace!     Finatal are currently working with a high-growth consumer lending business backed by a reputable, mid-market private equity. They are looking for an established, ambitious CFO to join on a permanent basis.

    Founded in 2019 the business has grown quickly to £25m+ revenue and a loan book of over £250m. The business is forecast to deliver circa £40m revenue this year and plans, longer term, to grow the loan book to £1bn+.

    The business will need to raise additional PE funding and potentially go through a securitisation later this year.

    The incoming CFO will need to drive an initial professionalisation remit around reporting, controllership & data to provide robust MI so that they can influence commercial & strategic decision making.

    The incoming CFO must have worked in Financial Services / Fintech beforehand, ideally in consumer lending. Experience in a PE / Leveraged business would be beneficial.

    This Head of FP&A opportunity will partner with a CFO who has strong credentials across the consumer space.
