    Group Financial Controller

    We are seeking an experienced and driven Group Financial Controller to join a TMT business based in Brighton/Crawley. As the Group Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring the financial strategy aligns with the overall business objective, driving growth and getting the business prepared for an exit in the next 24 months.

    This role is part of the senior leadership team and reports into the Chief Financial Officer. This involves extensive interaction with the wider leadership team and key stakeholders, as well as providing input into key strategic decisions and driving long-term value in the business.

    The Group Financial Controller based in Brighton will be managing 3 direct reports; the head of the Shared Service Centre, the US Accountant, and also the head of Group reporting. A large element of this role is around leading, developing, and mentoring this team, and ensuring strong controls and succession planning is in place as the business enters its next growth phase.

     

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    This is a varied role, with the opportunity to gain exposure across a number of areas within Finance. As such, the below list is not exhaustive:

    Reporting:

    -Providing proactive advice and guidance on all financial matters to the central and subsidiary finance teams, including expert opinion on accounting treatments under (FRS 102, IFRS and Dutch GAAP).

    -Ensuring all material financial matters that could potentially need to be highlighted to the Board or Exec are identified on a timely basis and disclosures prepared accordingly.

    -Highlighting poor performance against budget or forecasts and other areas of concern. Developing KPIs to assist the main Board in monitoring business performance.

    -Maintaining strong and effective reporting processes throughout the Group including appropriate information systems.

    -Provide ad-hoc analysis as required by the business.

    Control Framework:

    - Maintaining strong financial controls throughout the Group operations including;

    - Authorisation policies and procedures including cost controls.

    - Accounting policies.

    - Accounting controls.

    - Contribute proactively to the tax planning process and assessment and maintenance of the adequacy of transfer pricing documentation across the Group.

    - Co-ordinate the relationship with the Group auditors and other outsourced stats/tax/payroll providers.

    - Ensure all regulatory, compliance and accounting policies are adhered to.

    Forecasting:

    -Managing the annual budget process, rolling forecasts, and quarterly reforecast.

    -Review the weekly cashflow forecast and identify any actions required.

    -Finance support for M&A activity (ad-hoc).

    Commercial:

    -Lead the monthly regional sales forecast calls and monitor/drive actions.

    -Manage sales and commission schemes and payments.

    -Approve credit limits and terms when in excess of Group policy.

    -Support with RFQs and RFPs as required.

    -Monitor data quality within Group reporting systems to support analysis.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    -Qualified accountant with at least 3 years PQE.

    -Experience of managing a Group finance team for an international business is ideal.

    -Good management and leadership skills.

    -Excellent Excel skills.

    -Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.

    -Able to work effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
