    Finatal are retained by a high-growth, green tech scaleup to find a commercially astute VP Finance to join their team. With impressive VC backing, this business is on an exciting upwards trajectory and need a strong finance leader to drive continued success alongside the CCO, CEO and the wider SLT.

    The VP Finance has responsibility for building a best-in-class finance function, raising capital and generally adding value across the business. This is a fantastic role for someone looking to utilise their expertise in project fundraising, infrastructure finance and have true autonomy over a function.

     

     

    The role

    The Role:

    • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives, driving sustainable growth and profitability.
    • Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
    • Oversee the preparation and analysis of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, providing transparent and insightful financial updates and effectively communicating the company's financial performance and strategy.
    • Collaborate with the executive team and venture capital partners to support fundraising efforts, including preparing financial projections, investor presentations, and due diligence materials.
    • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure the company's financial stability and support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, implementing robust internal controls and compliance measures to safeguard the company's assets and interests.
    • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic opportunities, assess financial implications, and support decision-making to drive long-term value creation.
    • Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance function, leveraging technology and best practices to optimize financial operations and reporting capabilities.

     

    The requirements

    About you:

    • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified. MBA a benefit.
    • Proven track record of experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in high-growth technology companies or venture-backed startups.
    • Fundraising and Infrastructure experience pivotal.
    • Strong financial acumen with expertise in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and strategy development.
    • Experience in a Start-up/Scale-up environment.
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.
    • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
