Finatal is currently working with the fastest-growing Private Equity backed Environmental Infrastructure business in the UK, which specializes in applying advanced proprietary tech to risk mitigation. After recently receiving circa £30 million in funding, they are now expanding their internal Research and Development (R&D) team, to develop new state-of-the-art AI/ML algorithms. Thus, you will be joining an extremely fast-paced and collaborative environment, with the opportunity to work with some of the latest cutting-edge data science technologies, driving innovation using complex AI modelling techniques.

The role

Contribute to extensive research and development of state-of-the-art ML models, focused on prediction/recommendation algorithms.
Collaborate with technical stakeholders from their internal engineering and product teams to communicate cross-functional requirements, including the deployment of data science models.
Closely support their Head of Research to scope and define future ML projects, including technical due diligence and research.
Collect and pre-process large datasets from a variety of different sources, predominantly focused on Geological, Geospatial data (GIS).

The requirements

Minimum Bsc degree, preferably STEM-based or analytical focused.
Proficiency in coding in Python or R.
Hands-on experience with a variety of ML modelling techniques, including prediction/recommendation algorithms.
Beneficial experience working with Geospatial/GIS data.
Beneficial experience working within an R&D function, whilst supporting wider product/engineering teams.
