    M&A Associate

    Salary: £55-75k, plus bonus

    Position Overview:

    Finatal are supporting a highly acquisitive PE backed energy services business seeking an M&A Associate to join their M&A team and play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of their business.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead efforts to identify, assess, and prioritise potential M&A opportunities within the sector and adjacent verticals . Develop and maintain a robust deal pipeline to support the company's growth strategy on a global scale.
    • Conduct thorough due diligence on target companies, analysing financials, operations, legal aspects, and market conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess potential risks and opportunities.
    • Support the wider M&A team with the end-to-end deal process, including drafting and negotiating term sheets and definitive agreements, managing third-party advisors, and coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
    • Contribute to post-acquisition integration planning efforts to ensure a seamless transition and alignment of acquired assets with the company's strategic objectives.
    • Develop and analyse complex financial models to support decision-making and valuation of potential acquisitions.
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, and potential partners throughout the M&A process.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in either in-house M&A or corporate finance.
    • Sector relevant experience if preferred but not essential.
    • Proven experience in deal origination, due diligence, and transaction execution.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
    • Knowledge of private equity and energy services industry trends.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
