    Interim Power BI Data Analyst - Legal 

    Outside IR35 £400-550 

    6-month contract 


    Finatal are working with a PE backed law firm specialising in providing high-quality legal services to a diverse range of clients. As the business undergoes a transitional period, they are seeking an experienced Interim Data Analyst to join their team and help them leverage data-driven insights specific to the legal industry. Your expertise will play a crucial role in optimising operations, improving client service, and supporting strategic decision-making. 

    You will be responsible for analysing and interpreting complex legal data sets to generate actionable insights that enhance the firm's performance. You will collaborate closely with attorneys, practice groups, and firm leadership to identify data analysis needs, develop meaningful reports and dashboards, and provide valuable insights that support informed decision-making during this interim period. 


    • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) legal data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality. 

    • Analyse large and complex legal datasets, including case files, litigation data, and client information, to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform strategic decision-making and improve operational efficiency. 

    • Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards using Power BI tailored to legal metrics and KPIs. 

    • Provide regular and ad-hoc data-driven insights to key stakeholders, including partners, department heads, and PE investors, to support their decision-making processes related to case management, resource allocation, and client service. 

    • Collaborate with the IT team to optimise data storage, retrieval, and maintenance processes, ensuring efficient data access, security, and compliance with legal and ethical standards. 

    • Conduct data quality checks to identify and resolve data inconsistencies or errors specific to legal data sets, working closely with relevant teams to improve data accuracy and reliability. 

    • Identify opportunities for process automation and improvement within legal operations, leveraging data analysis to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.

You will be directly reporting into the Director of Finance and inherit full ownership of their Dynamics BC implementation – collaborating with their 3rd party implementation partner, and managing the ‘go-live’/user-testing phase.
