    Interim Head of FP&A

    Length: 3 months initially

    Day rate: 450-600 Outside IR35




    My client is a PE-Backed, ambitious e-commerce business that are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Partner to join our dynamic team. As a Finance Partner, you will play a crucial role in driving financial strategy, managing financial performance, and providing strategic guidance to the organization.

    The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with an Executive management team - Summarising complex data into easy to digest formats.

    The role


    Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

    • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
    • Analyse financial data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and trends to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.

    Strategic Financial Guidance

    • Partner with key stakeholders to understand business objectives and provide financial insights that contribute to strategic decision-making.
    • Collaborate with department heads to align financial goals with overall business objectives.

    Financial Reporting

    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

    Budget Management

    • Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish realistic and achievable financial goals.
    • Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.

    Risk Management + Process Improvement

    • Identify financial risks and work proactively to implement risk mitigation strategies.
    • Ability to identify opportunity and lead change
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact the organisation's financial stability.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with various departments, including operations, marketing, and HR, to provide financial guidance and support for strategic initiatives.
    • Able to lead training and enablement for other teams to be able to generate reports etc

    Financial Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
    • Participate in audits and facilitate the resolution of any audit findings.


    The requirements

    Qualifications / Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
    • Proven experience (3+ years) in SME financial management, analysis and reporting, and strategic planning.
    • Experience working in an omni-channel Retail Business environment multiple marketplaces / regions, including Amazon (preferable), B2B and Shopify (Desirable) Experience
    • Strong proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
    • Proficient in MS Office, financial software and ERP systems (SAP B1 Preferable) .
    • Experience of working with Channel Management Tools and other E-Commerce integrations desirable

The business seeks a high calibre, analytical and dynamic, leader in finance to drive on their growth journey through a mix of both service offering and inorganic growth. They are currently operating at c. £5m EBITDA with the goal and ambition to triple in size. The successful candidate will become business partner to incumbent CEO and lead on the strategy, setting KPIS to drive the business towards an eventual exit, in c. 3-4 years’ time.


    What we look for:

    • Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
    • Worked alongside PE in a growth setting; either as CFO or number 2 ready to step up
