About the Company: Our client is a leading Large Cap Retail business with a turnover exceeding £400 million. With a strong international presence, we operate multiple entities across different markets. We are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Controller to assist in group consolidation and lead our year-end audit. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial stability in our dynamic private equity (PE) environment.
Job Description:
As the Interim Finance Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial consolidation of our international entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You will also take the lead in managing our year-end audit process. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the ever-changing landscape of a private equity-owned company.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Consolidation: Lead the consolidation process for multiple international entities within the organization.
Year-End Audit: Take charge of the year-end audit, liaising with external auditors to ensure a smooth and successful audit process.
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
PE Environment: Steer the finance function in an evolving private equity environment, adapting to changes and providing stability.
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Requirements:
PE Experience: Essential experience in a private equity-backed organization is required.
Financial Controller Experience: Proven track record in a similar Finance Controller role within a retail or related business.
Qualifications: A relevant finance or accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive informed financial decisions.
Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
