Finatal are working exclusively with a mid-market global consultancy business. The business has scaled rapidly since a successful transaction in 2021, the need for a first time Group Tax Manager has become crucial to support the company’s aggressive growth trajectory. With another PE transaction on the horizon, it is a very exciting time to join the firm.
It's a newly created step-up role that will lead and coordinate the group's tax compliance, governance, and planning activities, as well as provide support in areas that have material tax implications such as the setting up of new entities, transfer pricing, intra-group trading and funding. This role will report directly into the GFD and work closely with the Financial Reporting and Treasury teams on all things tax matters.
Responsibilities
Ownership of all corporate tax matters for the group including compliance (ie corporation tax, VAT) for both UK and overseas entities, liaising with the wider Finance team as appropriate
Effectively manage the activities and relationship of the group’s external tax advisors as they relate to corporate tax arrangements,
Recommend actions to improve the efficiency of tax processes alongside actions to optimise the Group’s effective tax rate according to the policy and strategy established by the Board,
Assess the risk of tax liabilities on an on-going basis,
Ownership of the groups transfer pricing arrangements,
Business partnering with HR team, General Counsel and wider business to manage and advise on tax implications, person tax arrangements and risks.
Maintain appropriate forecasts for upcoming tax payments,
Recommend appropriate amendments to the corporate tax structure especially at the time of corporate transactions.
The Requirements:
Accountancy (ACA) and CTA Qualified (Or Equivalent)
Strong background in tax, either from industry or straight from practice
Experience of working with a high quality international group with turnovers greater than £200M.
Knowledge of transfer pricing and intercompany agreements
Ability to liaise effectively with tax authorities.
Excellent communication skills
