The Opportunity
Finatal are partnering with an acquisitive and private equity backed e-commerce business which boasts an enviable culture and impressive growth story so far. The business requires a Number 2 in finance, who will have the ambition to step up into the CFO position within the medium term. With a particular focus on children’s entertainment, the business has a strong pipeline of deals within the sector, and is approaching c.£100m t/o.
Mid-cycle with the current private equity investors, experience of the pace and rate of change which is demanded of an institutionally funded asset is desirable. Commercial acumen, and evidence of a detail orientated mindset to strengthen processes and controls is also a must! Most importantly, the business has a strong focus on fostering a culture which promotes wellbeing for success – so we’re looking to speak with an ambitious team player.
The Responsibilities
This hire will be integral to building and developing the finance team as the business scales. Additionally, as the business is embarking on a high growth journey through acquisitions, experience of this is also desirable.
• As the Group Finance Director, you’ll contribute to the finance team management of 5+, and this responsibility will be particularly important as the business grows.
• Scale the FP&A function and take a steer on the strengthening of controls, processes, and systems.
• Further develop a strong and stable finance team, making improvements and ensuring the function is operating to the highest possible standard.
• Partner with the business to deliver timely and insightful analysis to support strategic decision making, working closely with the CFO on the ongoing strategy of the business.
The Requirements
• An experienced FD/HoF
• ACA Qualified or equivalent (likely Big 4 trained), with strong academics.
• Experience building a best-in-class finance function in a growing business, with demonstrable leadership skills and experience managing a team.
• Previously worked in a business of scale, with a track record of developing and improving systems and processes.
• Ambitious, dedicated, and hardworking, with a strong track record of progression and success. Candidates will be analytical thinkers with excellent commercial acumen and strong interpersonal skills.
