    I am currently working with a private equity backed IT Services business who are looking to hire an excellent assistant controller to their finance function. Following investment from private equity, the business has been growing rapidly and is now at $250m turnover (25% EBIDTA). The addition of an assistance controller will allow the business to continue their expansion. Working directly with the VP of Finance and CFO, you will be given full autonomy of accounting processes and be given great exposure to the private equity house and more strategic elements of the finance function.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of financial reporting.
    • Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment, including the design and implementation of effective control frameworks.
    • Oversee the periodic review and testing of financial controls to identify weaknesses, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks across the organization.
    • Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and methodologies.
    • Monitor key risk indicators, conduct risk assessments, and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance operational effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Stay up to date with changes in accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, and ensure timely implementation of any necessary changes.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for financial and compliance audits.
    • Improve reporting and financial information delivered to the private equity investors.
    • Continuously evaluate existing financial processes and controls, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
    • Streamline and automate financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process standardization and optimization.
    • Build and lead a high-performing controls team, providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. An MBA or CPA qualification is highly desirable.
    • Proven experience in financial controls, risk management, and compliance, preferably within the industry and/or private equity-backed companies.
    • Strong knowledge of financial and operational controls, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
