    The Opportunity:

    Finatal are working with a fantastic mid-market Private Equity fund who are looking to bring on a new Origination Executive to their outstanding team. This is a rare opportunity to experience and contribute to the entirety of the origination process, from researching and sourcing potential opportunities to outreach and beyond.


    The role


    • Develop thematic investment thesis to identify platform opportunities as well as supporting portfolio companies with their inorganic growth plans.
    • Review and develop outputs from research team to ensure all key players in each market are identified, qualitatively and quantitively reviewed and prioritised.
    • Reach out to key stakeholders of interest to secure, and subsequently attend, meetings so that the fund can further its understanding of the targets, their fit for the fund and the stakeholder objectives. Ability to take clear, detailed notes and actions from meetings.
    • Manage quality and input of company, opportunity, and people data entered into internal CRM.
    • Support with production of marketing materials for meetings with CEOs, non-executives and others.
    • Develop and maintain superior market knowledge by attending relevant conferences, company meetings and other events.
    • Support the preparation of reports from CRM as required by key internal and external stakeholders.

    The requirements


    • Minimum 2.1 degree from prestigious university.
    • 2-3 years work experience.
    • Prior experience and good track record in role(s) requiring the development and maintenance of external relationships – e.g. expert networks, commercial and business development role or senior executive head hunting.
    • Prior experience in role involving significant direct exposure to c-suite executives.
    • Prior experience working in or with Private Equity/Venture Capital.
    • Strong analytical skills, writing skills and IT skills (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
    • Proactive nature, high levels of self-motivation and commitment.
    • Ability and willingness to work independently, often with minimal supervision.
    • Understanding of, and ability to read, financial statements and financial information (strongly preferred).

    Finatal are working with a leading mid-market investor who require an experienced interim CFO to guide their professional services asset through a financial transformation. This circa £90m t/o business was acquired circa 12 months ago after having undergone a period of significant growth and the investors are now seeking an accomplished Private Equity CFO to play a key role in reshaping the financial success of their distressed asset through leading a critical refinancing programme.

    You’ll be working closely with the CEO and the investors who have a successful track record in distressed asset turnarounds. They are looking for an individual who able to adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach to make crucial executive decisions and drive a significant restructuring of the business in a highly leveraged environment.

    You’ll be responsible for liaising with banks and lenders on all negotiations. One of your first tasks as interim CFO will be to quickly run a full diagnostic on this asset and its subsidiaries to better understand the company’s cash position, covenants position, and ultimately initiate a restructuring plan that will enable them to scale internationally in the future. You will be required on-site at their headquarters in East London 1 day per week.
