    M&A Manager

    Location: London, hybrid

    Finatal is supporting a private equity backed software business, seeking an M&A Manager to support the head of the M&A with the origination and execution of all M&A transactions

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify potential acquisition targets or merger opportunities in the software industry through market research, industry contacts, and networking.
    • Conduct thorough financial, legal, and operational due diligence on target companies to assess their suitability for acquisition or merger.
    • Evaluate financial statements, perform valuation analyses, and create financial models to assess the financial impact and viability of potential deals.
    • Work closely with the senior team and legal advisors to structure deals, negotiate terms, and draft transaction documentation.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to manage the end-to-end M&A process, ensuring adherence to timelines, coordination of activities, and successful deal execution.
    • Develop integration plans and strategies for post-merger integration of acquired companies, including the alignment of technology systems, processes, and cultures.
    • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investment bankers, legal advisors, and industry contacts, to support deal flow and partnership opportunities.

    Qualifications:

    • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
    • 5+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or M&A advisory roles, preferably within the software industry.
    • Strong financial analysis skills, including proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and understanding of accounting principles.
    • Demonstrated experience in executing M&A transactions, including deal origination, due diligence, deal structuring, and negotiation.
    • In-depth understanding of the software industry, including market dynamics, emerging trends, and competitive landscape.
    • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders.

      Finatal are leading the search for an energetic CFO to join a high-growth professional services business, which has received recent investment from a mid-market UK-based Private Equity firm. They are a highly acquisitive business with the ambition to grow from c. £12m EBITDA to c. £20m EBITDA by exit. Having completed and integrated 5 acquisitions, they look to continue serving both organic and inorganic growth. The incoming CFO will be a business partner to CEO and act as a natural leader who can add value by supporting the investors in their journey.

       

      What we look for:

      • Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
