    Finatal are partnering with a rapidly growing B2B Technology business, backed by a reputable small cap UK Private Equity investor. With a thriving turnover of £120 million and an impressive EBITA of £15 million, they are at the forefront of innovation in their industry. As they continue their growth trajectory, we are seeking a talented Group Financial Controller to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on their financial operations, drive efficiencies, and contribute to their successful journey towards a potential exit to a larger mid cap private equity investor within the next 18 months.

    As the Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in leading their finance function and driving financial excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee the financial controls team, manage financial reporting, and implement efficient processes to support their ambitious growth plans. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the business.

    The Role:

    • Lead and manage the finance function, including financial controls, reporting, and compliance.
    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
    • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of financial processes, policies, and systems.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including the executive team, operational leaders, and investors.
    • Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
    • Manage cash flow, treasury, and working capital to optimize liquidity and mitigate financial risks.
    • Drive operational and financial efficiencies within the controls team, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10 finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

    The Requirements:

    • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
    • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within a private equity-backed B2B Technology business.
    • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
    • Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
    • Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management.
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
    • Previous experience in preparing the business for exit or private equity transactions would be advantageous.
