    Job Title: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

    Salary: £200,000 - £250,000 per annum + Bonus + Equity

    Finatal’s clients are a dynamic and rapidly expanding Professional Services business, backed by Private Equity, currently operating at £30 million in revenue with £10 million in EBITDA. With a strategic focus on aggressive buy-and-build initiatives, they are targeting acquisitions ranging from £5 million to £30 million in size. Headquartered in the UK, they also have a strong presence in the USA. The goal is to drive exponential growth, expanding revenue to £120 million before embarking on a strategic exit within the next 3 to 5 years.


    The Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in driving the company's financial strategy, supporting ambitious growth plans, and ensuring the success of buy-and-build initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive leadership team, the CFO will have the opportunity to shape the financial future of the organization and contribute to overall success.



    The role

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to support the company's growth objectives, overseeing all financial operations and functions.
    • Lead financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to drive informed decision-making and maximize financial performance.
    • Manage capital allocation and investment strategies, including evaluating potential acquisitions, assessing their financial viability, and executing due diligence processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate acquired businesses seamlessly, optimize synergies, and drive operational efficiencies.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance and support fundraising efforts.
    • Foster a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and transparency across the organization, driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practices.

    The requirements


    • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Equivalent)
    • Proven track record of success in senior financial leadership roles within Private Equity-backed companies, preferably in the Professional Services sector.
    • Extensive experience in M&A transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, and integration processes.
    • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and capital markets.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
    • Strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate market trends, identify growth opportunities, and drive value creation initiatives.
    • Results-oriented approach, with a focus on driving performance and achieving ambitious targets in a fast-paced environment.

    Finatal are working with a leading mid-market investor who require an experienced interim CFO to guide their professional services asset through a financial transformation. This circa £90m t/o business was acquired circa 12 months ago after having undergone a period of significant growth and the investors are now seeking an accomplished Private Equity CFO to play a key role in reshaping the financial success of their distressed asset through leading a critical refinancing programme.

    You’ll be working closely with the CEO and the investors who have a successful track record in distressed asset turnarounds. They are looking for an individual who able to adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach to make crucial executive decisions and drive a significant restructuring of the business in a highly leveraged environment.

    You’ll be responsible for liaising with banks and lenders on all negotiations. One of your first tasks as interim CFO will be to quickly run a full diagnostic on this asset and its subsidiaries to better understand the company’s cash position, covenants position, and ultimately initiate a restructuring plan that will enable them to scale internationally in the future. You will be required on-site at their headquarters in East London 1 day per week.
