Financial Director

The opportunity

We are exclusively working with a fast-growing Private Equity backed Technology business seeking an experienced Financial Director to join the team. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the business as we prepare for a sale in the next two to three years.

Working alongside the Head of FP&A, you will be responsible for overseeing the Controllership, Management Accounting and Transaction Processing functions and be expected to bring an innovative approach to the wider finance team. As a highly acquisitive business they have completed on a number of an acquisition where you will be actively involved in the post-acquisition integration.

Team management experience is crucial for this role, acting as a key point of contact for all of finance.

The role

Build and develop a motivated high performing team
Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the business’s growth and sale objectives
Work closely with the CFO to prepare financial reports and presentations for private equity partners and potential buyers
Effective management of month-end processes
Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, and tax advisors
Provide financial insights and guidance to senior management, helping to inform key business decisions

The requirements

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Extensive experience in a financial director or equivalent role, ideally within a private equity-backed technology business
Strong understanding of financial systems and processes, with the ability to identify areas for improvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Proven track record of driving financial growth and delivering results
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
