    Finatal are partnering with a dynamic and rapidly growing Private Equity-backed manufacturing business located in Kent. With a current turnover of £60 million, the business is on an ambitious trajectory, targeting a strategic exit within the next 2-3 years. The senior team comprises seasoned professionals dedicated to scaling, professionalising, and ultimately achieving successful exits in the business landscape. As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in driving our financial strategy forward.


    The business is at an inflexion point, focused on bolstering their senior financial stakeholders which fine tuning the exit plan for the next cycle of investment. This is a leading sector business who have a clear strategy and are on a search for like minded individuals to drive key commercial decisions.


    The role

    The Role:

    · Collaborate closely with our experienced Finance Director to implement robust financial practices and strategies tailored to our growth objectives.

    · Take ownership of the finance function, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting while actively contributing to strategic decision-making processes.

    · Manage and mentor a large finance team, providing leadership and guidance to 3-4 direct reports.

    · Implement and maintain effective controls, systems, and processes to support the evolving needs of our high-growth manufacturing business.

    · Partner with key stakeholders internally to drive commercial decisions, leveraging your emotional intelligence and strategic mindset.


    The requirements

    The Requirements:

    · Professional Finance Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent; e.g CPA, CA)

    · Full UK driving licence or equivalent.

    · Hands-on experience in finance, ideally within a changing and growing manufacturing environment or mid-market.

    · Strong understanding of financial controls, systems, and processes.

    · Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.

    · Independent, ambitious, and adept at driving excellence in a fast-paced environment.

    · Exceptional emotional intelligence and communication skills to foster effective collaboration and decision-making internally.

    Finatal are working with a leading mid-market investor who require an experienced interim CFO to guide their professional services asset through a financial transformation. This circa £90m t/o business was acquired circa 12 months ago after having undergone a period of significant growth and the investors are now seeking an accomplished Private Equity CFO to play a key role in reshaping the financial success of their distressed asset through leading a critical refinancing programme.

    You’ll be working closely with the CEO and the investors who have a successful track record in distressed asset turnarounds. They are looking for an individual who able to adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach to make crucial executive decisions and drive a significant restructuring of the business in a highly leveraged environment.

    You’ll be responsible for liaising with banks and lenders on all negotiations. One of your first tasks as interim CFO will be to quickly run a full diagnostic on this asset and its subsidiaries to better understand the company’s cash position, covenants position, and ultimately initiate a restructuring plan that will enable them to scale internationally in the future. You will be required on-site at their headquarters in East London 1 day per week.
