    Finatal is partnered with a renowned and rapidly growing multi-site healthcare business backed by a leading private equity firm. Committed to delivering exceptional patient care, the company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial strategy, contribute to its expansion plans, and play a key role in a successful exit to a secondary private equity fund.

    Position Overview:

    As the CFO, the candidate will be a crucial part of the executive team, driving financial excellence, and guiding the company through strategic financial decisions, mergers and acquisitions, and ultimately, a successful exit. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in private equity-backed healthcare businesses, M&A expertise, and a proven track record in successfully scaling companies. 


    The role


    1. Financial Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and private equity partners' vision.
    • Leads the annual budgeting process and provides strategic financial guidance to support operational decisions.

    2. Mergers and Acquisitions:

    • Collaborate with the executive team to identify and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities.
    • Lead financial due diligence efforts and provide critical insights during M&A transactions.
    • Ensure financial considerations align with the overall growth strategy.

    3. Exit Strategy Execution:

    • Work closely with the CEO and stakeholders to develop and execute a successful exit strategy to a secondary private equity fund.
    • Provide financial expertise to optimize value during exit transactions.

    4. Financial Oversight:

    • Manage and oversees financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
    • Implement financial controls, risk management strategies, and best practices to ensure the company's financial health.

    5. Investor Relations:

    • Engage with private equity partners and other stakeholders, providing transparent and insightful financial reporting.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, fostering confidence in the financial strategy.


    The requirements


    • Proven experience as a CFO in a private equity-backed healthcare business.
    • Expertise in M&A transactions, due diligence, and post-merger integration.
    • Track record of successful financial leadership and contributions to exits or trade sales.
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a focus on driving financial performance.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • ACA Qualified preferable

    Finatal are working with a leading mid-market investor who require an experienced interim CFO to guide their professional services asset through a financial transformation. This circa £90m t/o business was acquired circa 12 months ago after having undergone a period of significant growth and the investors are now seeking an accomplished Private Equity CFO to play a key role in reshaping the financial success of their distressed asset through leading a critical refinancing programme.

    You’ll be working closely with the CEO and the investors who have a successful track record in distressed asset turnarounds. They are looking for an individual who able to adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach to make crucial executive decisions and drive a significant restructuring of the business in a highly leveraged environment.

    You’ll be responsible for liaising with banks and lenders on all negotiations. One of your first tasks as interim CFO will be to quickly run a full diagnostic on this asset and its subsidiaries to better understand the company’s cash position, covenants position, and ultimately initiate a restructuring plan that will enable them to scale internationally in the future. You will be required on-site at their headquarters in East London 1 day per week.
