A highly reputable international tech investor has recently completed a majority buyout of a UK based software business to help fuel its growth. Revenues are currently circa £15m with an EBIDTA of £4m and top line has grown 30% + YoY for the last 4 years.
The business has been transitioning away from a traditional perpetual licence model to SaaS with the emphasis on growing it’s subscription revenue base.
The investors have a clear value creation plan which includes bolt-on M&A and have identified a pipeline of potential targets. They plan on growing the business in the UK, US and EU (organically and inorganically) to revenues of £100m + before delivering an exit.
As CFO you will be responsible for executing on the 3 – 5 year strategy, driving business partnering, leading on M&A and integration and maximising revenue growth.
Finance as a function has been under invested in to date, as such in the first 6 months you will need to build out a scalable operational framework for the function, whilst improving reporting, controls and systems. Budget is there to recruit and build a high-performing team so we are looking for candidates experienced in doing so.
There will be some quick wins in improving revenue recognition, management reporting and implementing appropriate KPI’s and the CFO will need to be very hands on in driving these improvements.
