    The opportunity

I am working with a fast growth, venture capital backed B2C SaaS platform (c.£10m ARR) aggressively expanding on their portfolio of blue-chip clients as they continue to dominate the UK market and assert their presence internationally. Due to the rapid growth triggered by a significant funding round, the business is looking for a CFO to report into the CEO and build on the revenue growth (>100%) from the previous 12-month period. This hands-on role will rely on the development of strong relationships with the board and investors whilst continuing to upscale the finance function and play a crucial part in the business strategy and development of the HR, Legal and IT teams.

    The role

    • Provide valuable and trusted counsel to the CEO, Executive team, board of directors and investors on both financial and broad-based business issues related to the overall performance of the Company.
    • Lead any fundraising/investor/acquisition work as well as any potential conversations with potential acquirers.
    • Serve as a key member of the senior executive team in providing input to management peers regarding the financial implications of all major business decisions, as well as strategic input in shaping the Company’s business objectives.
    • Built on the solid financial foundation that is in place with further automation and insight through reports and dashboards that will allow the business to grow effectively over the next several years as we move towards an exit.
    • Ability to deliver relevant information for different purposes, including both investors and internal stakeholders to create clarity and focus while moving the business forward.
    • Create insightful dashboards, provide relevant best-in-class benchmarks, and derive relevant recommendations based on a dynamically changing environment (changes in hiring, product strategy, sales performance, etc.)
    • Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, and play a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements.
    • Produce accurate bi-monthly board reports and budgets/models where required.
    • Oversight of all Finance, Accounting, Administration and Legal work.
    • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to have a good understanding of the sales pipeline, monthly recurring revenues, and key SaaS metrics.

    The requirements

    • Qualified accountant
    • The ideal candidate will have experience working in several VC or PE-backed B2B SaaS companies. As such they will have strong familiarity with key KPIs.
    • Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, cross-border transactions, tax and managing FX risk.
    • Strong FP&A skillset with an analytical, metrics-driven and intellectually curious mindset to automate and provide reporting that empowers the board and individual business functions to make great decisions in collaboration with finance.
    • Experience in scaling a business internationally including the US and continental Europe with entities in those regions.
    • Outstanding leadership, communication, and team-building skills during periods of rapid change instilling confidence and purpose in the business together with the rest of the senior management team.
    • Proven ability to partner with Senior Management/CEO to actively contribute to the strategic direction of the company and work with sales teams to close deals.
